Support Worker (Floater) South Wales

Bawso is an All Wales voluntary organisation, providing generic and specialist services including the provision of temporary accommodation in Wales for those suffering from domestic abuse and all forms of violence; including Female Genital Mutilation, Forced Marriage, Honor Based Violence and Human Trafficking.

 

 We are seeking to appoint:

 

Full Time Support Worker (Floater)

(Fixed Term Contract up to 31st March 2020, subject to funding)

Subject to needs, Across South Wales (Cardiff, Newport, Merthyr and Caerphilly)

 

35hours per week 

Salary Range: £19,430.00 to £21,962.00 (Scale 20 to 24 NJC1718) per annum

 

 

The Worker will be responsible to work within a community development framework; the worker will be responsible for working with women where domestic abuse is a significant support need and or require housing related support, to enable women to live more independent life based on real choices about their future. You will be responsible for providing support to women and children according to their individual support needs to enable them to get and keep tenancy in line with Service Level Providers policies. The post holder will be responsible for providing emotional and practical support and ensuring that women and children in the refuge are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, providing support to women in the community in order to maximise their safety, Providing support to women in their own homes who require a Floating Support service, to enable them to maintain their tenancy and assist them with their integration within the community and Identifying and assessing female victims of Modern Slavery/ Human Trafficking and delivering an accommodation support and outreach service to these victims by providing one to one support, signposting and advocacy.

 We are seeking to appoint:

 

TRAINER

Independent Contractor, Flexible as and when required.
Based in Wales (Traveling outside wales may be required.)  
 

Pay:

£300.00 per day (Inclusive of all meal cost and local travel cost)
£150.00 per half day (Inclusive of all meal cost and local travel cost)

 

             As a Bawso Independent Contractor, you will be required to deliver high quality learner focused training to external agencies in one or more Bawso training subject areas including: Toxic Trio; Domestic Abuse; Domestic Abuse from BME Perceptive; FGM; Forced Marriage; Human Trafficking; Cultural Diversity; Safeguarding; Living and Working in UK; Service Users Participation; No Recourse to Public Funds and Working With Interpreters.

(Cover across South Wales)

The worker will be expected to participate in all aspects of Bawso’s work with particular responsibility for identifying and assessing male victims of trafficking throughout the UK and deliver an outreach and accommodation support service by providing one to one support, signposting and advocacy. The post holder will be responsible for Assisting men in resolving problems and developing life skills through the provision of safety planning, support, information, signposting and advocacy, promote independent living and make timely referrals on to resettlement support, assist service users to exit prostitution and trafficking situations in a safe and positive way.
