Why women don't tell...

Some women wouldn't tell because:

• She feels responsible for being a mother, daughter, sister or a wife.
• She feels that she deserves it.
• She is the carer of the family, she can't show vulnerability.
• Anxieties, fear about the possible outcomes of telling somebody.
• Fear of not being believed.
• The idea that Domestic Abuse is a private issue and should be sorted within the household.
• Feel that people/family members will blame her.
• Shame of failure.
• Fear of deportation.
• No legal status.
• Stigma attached to divorce, being a single mother
• Economic and emotional dependancy
• Isolation
