Why does she stay?

Women from BME background may stay with an abusive partner often because:

If she has been totally controlled deprived of friends, with no support network; facing a language barrier; she may not be aware of the help available.
She may feel she has no where to go
She may feel she is unable to cope financially.
She may be feeling low self-esteem and a severe lack of confidence.
She may feel incapable of leaving the relationship because it will bring shame.
She may believe that he will change.
She may stay because she doesn't want to deprive her children of their dad.
She may fear that her abuser will find her and kill her and her children.
She doesn't want to be isolated from the family.
She may be scared of a future.
She may still care about the partner.
Immigration status, fear of being deported
He threatens suicide
