BAWSO working in partnership - a note.
BAWSO acknowledges that without close partnership working little could have been achieved. The National Assembly For Wales, Local Authorities, Registered Social Landlords, Welsh Women's Aid, Wales Council for Voluntary Action, and organisations within the BME voluntary sector have been an invaluable support.
The extent of BAWSO services necessitates the extensive establishment and nurturing of joint working, and this in itself takes resources and expertise.
Partnerships directed towards the delivery of services are matched with partnerships forged with funding bodies. Particular care is taken to meet the conditions of Grant Aid and, wherever possible, to exceed expectations and to use resources imaginatively in order to maximise their impact.
The increasing breadth of BAWSO services will require additional effort in building partnerships with new participants. With some new partners the extent and implications of violence against women is not wholly appreciated, nor are the interventions necessary to address racism that can stand in the way of providing effective and efficient responses. BAWSO will be placing considerable emphasis on using the skills and expertise that it has developed in partnership working to establish practical alliances that can reduce the incidence and impact of violence against women in Wales.
